Avoid a connectivity gap
Give us at least 2 weeks' notice where possible — nbn® connection appointments at a new address can take 1–3 weeks depending on the technology type, especially if a technician visit is required. We can usually keep your old address connected until your new one is ready, so there's no need to go without internet in between.
Technology type may differ
Your new address might be on a different nbn® technology (Fibre, Fixed Wireless, etc.) to your current one, which can mean different speed tiers are available.
Final bill at your old address
We'll prorate and finalise billing for your old address once your service there is disconnected — no double-charging for overlapping days.
Business phone numbers move with you
Your business phone service and any ported numbers move to your new address as part of the same request — no separate porting process needed.
New Critical Information Summary
If your plan or technology type changes at the new address, we'll send you an updated Critical Information Summary reflecting what applies there.
Will I need a new contract if I move?
No — your existing OM TELECOM plan and any minimum term already in progress simply continues at your new address. You won't be asked to sign a new agreement just because you've moved.
What if nbn® isn't available at my new address yet?
If your new address isn't yet serviceable, we'll let you know what alternatives are available — including nbn® Fixed Wireless or Starlink satellite internet — and help you get connected as soon as possible.
Is there a charge to move my service?
Standard change-of-address requests are generally free. If your new address needs a new physical installation (for example, a Fibre technician visit), any charge will be confirmed with you before you commit.
How much notice should I give?
As much as possible — ideally at least 2 weeks before your move date, since technician appointments for the new address can take time to schedule, particularly for Fibre or Fixed Wireless installs.
